Abstract
Bullying has a negative impact on all aspects of a child's life in terms of physical,
psychological and social. Bullying behavior is caused by personal factors, namely
parenting style and situational prices including peers, mass media and schools.
Estimated rates of bullying and casualties in primary school-age children range from
15% to 25% in Australia, Austria, the United Kingdom, Finland, Germany, Norway and
the United States (Lindenberg, Oldehinkel & Winter, 2005) in the journal Belinda, 2012.
Aim of the study this is to find out the relationship between parenting and peers parenting
to bullying behavior in school-age children at SDN 08 Surau Gadang Padang in 2019.
This type of research is descriptive analytic with cross sectional design. The population
of this study were 109 students in grade IV and class V. The number of samples from this
study were 52 students. Data were analyzed by Chi-Square test. Statistical test results
showed that there was a relationship between parenting style and bullying behavior. There was a peer relationship with bullying behavior in school age children at SDN 08 Surau Gadang Padang in 2019. This research was expected that parents should pay more
attention and care to children both inside as well as outside the home and at the school to give a good example to students so that bulliying does not occur in children.
