Abstract
Autism is a neurobiological developmental disorder characterized by impaired social interaction, communication and language and behavior. The number of cases of autism has increased in Indonesia, in 2008 the ratio of children with autism 1 in 100 children, in 2012 became one of 88 children who have autism. The success of therapy depends on the following factors degrees of autism, the age of starting therapy, the intelligence, the child's ability to speak, the intensity of therapy , length of therapy and the support of parents. Research has been conducted in the city of Padang on November 2 to 21 , 2015. The study design was cross-sectional study . The population in this study are all children undergo therapy has been diagnosed with autism just 109 people , and samples were taken by proportional stratified random sampling which amounted to 51 people . The result showed that there is a relationship place therapy with therapeutic advances, there is a relationship therapist with therapeutic advances, there is no relationship of individual learning program with therapeutic advances, there is no connection infrastructure with therapeutic advances, there is no relationship with the environment in which therapy therapeutic advances.Place therapy is one of the factors that affect the progress of treatment undergone by children with autism. Therefore, the vailability of a suitable therapy will greatly affect the progress of established therapies. It is necessary additional facilities and infrastructure that support the implementation of the therapy, whether procured from government or non-governmental assistance.
