Abstract
West Sumatra was hit especially the town padang disaster that smog from burning forests and land is an annual event that can cause environmental pollution, DIMA pollution is one risk that can cause various health problems. Disaster in Sumatera smog causing the number of people developing the disease in acute respiratory infections (ARI) the number of people developing the disease increases with increasing smog that hit many points in sumateras. Kids are the ones group to various diseases, especially infectious diseases. According to the findings of the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated10 million children die every year due to diarrhea, AIDS, malaria and ARI (MoH RI, 2012). to prevent that it is necessary and appropriate action attitude in dealing with the problem. This research is descriptive method of research conducted with the main objective to make a picture or describes about a situation that is objective, This research has been conducted in the village gurun laweh nanggalo districts 2015 dated December 2-8, samples of this research are families with young children 1-5 years with technique sampling is multi-stage sampling. Based on the research that has been conducted by researchers from 67 respondents in the village Gurun Laweh Nanggalo districts that is 92.5% positive attitude and action that is 86.6% of respondents have a good action against handling ARIin children aged 1-5 years. It can be asserted need handling, attitude and appropriate action in the face of ARI, the presence of this research are expected to be input how the attitudes and actions of village community Gurun Laweh Nanggalo districts.
